Lava Guesthouse

The owners are a couple, and they've made this a really cozy, pleasant guesthouse. There are thoughtful touches throughout that make it easy to feel comfortable. The kitchen has a surprisingly complete set of Ikea cookware in good shape, including a grill pan, a non-stick pan, and three big pots. The bathrooms and toilets were spotless, and there were enough for all the rooms. I'd be glad to stay here again.

Room 8 was in great shape, and the upstairs bathrooms were spotless and well stocked. I didn't check out the kitchen, but it was good to know it was available. I was the only guest that night, so it was completely quiet, though I can imagine the wooden floors might carry noise when other people are around. A couple of small things: the shade barely kept the sunlight out while I was trying to sleep, so bring an eye mask. I also wasn't sure where to park and ended up using the public lot about a block and a half away.

Such a nice place. The room was lovely and a good size, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The electric charger setup was really warm and nice, lol.

The location is right in the middle of Heimaey's restaurant scene, which was perfect. When we arrived, the owner happened to be there and was such a sweet, welcoming gentleman. Our room was small but just right for one night, including a Netflix movie night. There were several bathrooms, so no queues, and little touches like hand towels and a pleasant scent made a difference. I only had hot drinks in the kitchen and dining room, but it looked fully equipped. The wind got very strong overnight, and the window could barely handle it, so we heard some atmospheric howling. A minor complaint, if that.
