Hótel Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Hotel

We saw the aurora from our room, with beautiful views all around. The design was impeccable, everything was very clean, and body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. People were pleasant, the service was great, and the food and cocktails were delicious. It was one of our pricier stays, but we liked it so much we stayed an unexpected second night. One of the best places we stayed in Iceland.

The setting was gorgeous, and our room was comfortable and well arranged. Coffee and tea were available in the room, and there were robes and slippers to use for the sauna and hot tub. Before our glacier hike, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant and ordered the vegan Christmas preset meal. It was superb, with a delicious, imaginative menu and excellent service.

Breakfast was top notch, with a huge variety, though they could really use another coffee machine. Dinner was fine too. We were driving the ring road clockwise, and Jökulsarlon was one of our more luxurious stops toward the end. I’m glad we stayed. We stopped for two nights and left feeling fully recharged. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. The rooms felt spacious, with a Nordic vibe, and were super comfortable, with thoughtful details like several brightness settings for the lighting. We also had a great view from the room.

There was so much to do indoors and outside that I wish we could have used this lovely hotel as our base. We stayed two nights and had an amazing experience, so we’ll definitely come back. Breakfast was delicious, and the hot springs right outside had magnificent views. The rooms were very clean and organized, with good-quality coffee, proper espresso, in the room.
