Lilja Guesthouse

The family-run farm stay is beautifully situated close to Höfn, in the middle of nowhere, which is part of its beauty. Our rooms were really big, well equipped, clean, and comfortable. The staff are super nice, and breakfast is rich with a good variety. In winter they don't serve dinner, so ask for recommendations on where to go in Höfn if you need them. There are limits to what a very small staff can maintain, and there are a few minor damages to the interior here and there. Keeping the place going in this condition is a challenge given its remote location.

It's peaceful and relaxing at Lilja Guesthouse, a lovely place to unwind. The rooms are new, very clean, and comfortable, with stunning mountain views. Beautifully located and highly recommended! 💕✨

The rooms were pretty nice, but breakfast was a letdown. There wasn't any hot food, just cheese and ham for sandwiches and boiled eggs that were overcooked. Coffee and tea were the only warm things.

The staff were friendly, but breakfast was very basic. We stayed three nights in a standard room in the old building, which felt more like a barracks than a guesthouse. The room had a bed and nightstand, with no closet and barely enough space to open a suitcase. Though recently renovated, it was plain, and the tiny bathroom was hard to move around in. The toilet paper holders were coming off the walls and the light fixture was loose from the ceiling. We saw that the newer building had nicer-looking rooms, but there wasn't space for us there. Don't book a standard room, you'll regret it.
