Mörk Superior Cottages

We got to see beautiful Northern Lights while we were there on April 13, even with a little noise from the house behind us, which I assume was from the owners. It was very windy, but the patio faces away from the wind and is sheltered, so the wind chill wasn’t bad and we could enjoy sitting out there. This is a small, secluded, cozy, unique place with lovely views of the fjord and sky. It’s close enough to town for food and supplies, but far enough away to feel like a nice break.

We were pleasantly surprised to find breakfast laid out in the room’s fridge when we arrived. There was a good variety, and it was all high quality. The bed and sofa were both exceptionally comfortable, and the place was clean and spacious, with a generous bathroom. We had breathtaking views from both the room and porch. A stunning guesthouse just north of Hvammstangi, captivating inside and out. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

We loved watching the horses and sheep by the water through the large windows. The view was fantastic, and the apartment was very clean, with thoughtful touches like coffee, tea and juice. Beautifully located just a short hop off the Ring Road.

I loved the breakfast spread, which was waiting in the room when I arrived. Having it on the little dining table felt like room service. The towels were the huge fluffy kind you get at Costco, the best ones we had in Iceland. They even provided individual soaps and shampoos with Dead Sea minerals, which is rare to find in Iceland. It’s a small cottage set up like a duplex, with two rooms for rent in what is essentially the owner’s backyard. Inside, it’s spacious and stylishly decorated, and the fjord views are great. I really liked staying here and highly recommend it.
