Elding Apartments

The horses on the farm make such cute neighbors. I only wish they offered riding, even just for experienced riders, rather than the touristy tours everyone nearby seems to do. We liked the apartment and its location so much that we spontaneously came back for a couple more days at the end of our trip. Best Airbnb we stayed in in Iceland.

Studio Apartment 4, behind 2 and 3, was adorable, clean, nicely furnished, and had everything we needed, including lots of thoughtful touches. Check-in was easy and contactless. Google Maps will get you most of the way if you search for Elding Apartments, but a helpful neighbor had to redirect us. Turn off road 1 where the Elding sign is, take the immediate right, then follow that road to the end.

The dog was so friendly, and meeting the Icelandic ponies nearby was a treat. The apartment itself was great too, warm, clean, modern, nicely furnished, with a comfy bed and warm showers. It’s a little outside town, in a good spot for driving around the south coast. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on two nights.

Apartment no. 1 is connected to the horse stable and is modern, with everything we needed and even extras like coffee capsules. The internet was good, though the signal was weak in the smaller second bedroom. On a sunny day, lots of light comes in, but the rollos kept the rooms dark enough for us to sleep in after a long drive. The beds were among the most comfortable we’ve ever had.
