Ace Guesthouse

Gudney and her husband welcomed us warmly into their guesthouse. Our apartment was comfortable and clean, and it felt like really good value. It’s close to the airport, and Gudney helped arrange transportation for our 5 am flight. They’re charming islanders, and I’d recommend the place for an overnight stay.

Peter, the lovely owner, picked us up at the airport. Our room was great, with two big comfortable beds, everything new, and an amazing view from the window. It also had a small, equipped kitchen, almost like a flat. A sweet place to stay near the airport, and very close to Blue Lagoon. Reykjavik is 44 km away, so this house is a long way from the city. That’s fine if you plan your days and tours around it. I recommend the accommodation.

This is an affordable, comfortable alternative to a hotel, with a kitchen and fridge, private bathroom, and a quiet location very close to the airport. The host was welcoming and very nice. It’s mostly self service, so don’t expect a personal concierge. The nearby ISIS fish wagon does fabulous fish and chips, and Orkan is open 24 hours if you want to try the hot dog. Seriously good dog.

We got in a little late, but check-in was still simple. The room was a good price and very close to the airport. It was a studio with two large beds, a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and stove, plus a private toilet and shared shower.
