Hotel Keilir by Reykjavik Keflavik Airport

This was the hotel icelandair put us in after a delay out of zurich made us miss our connection. It was very basic but adequate for the situation. Check-in dragged because one woman at the desk had a lot of us to handle. I slept okay, and there was a bed, shower, and good internet. Good enough for free, but I wouldn't choose it and pay for it myself. One guy called it the worst hotel he'd stayed in, which felt too harsh to me. Maybe Iair uses it all the time because it's empty. The desk woman told us breakfast was at 7, but when I went down, the older man said 7:25. It wasn't a communication mix-up, since 7:25 to 9 is quite different from 7 to 9. He was still setting things up at 7:25, though he let me in. I made coffee in the dark. There was sliced bread, cheese, and meat, but no mayo; cereal, but no milk. I took a banana back to my room. At least the hotel was by the water, and I enjoyed a sunrise stroll. We had to leave at 11, so that meant five hours waiting at the lousy airport before our flight.

Bryndis is the best. She saved my ass while I was here, and I'll come back any time. I'm in Iceland!! The people here are lovely, and everyone should come stay at this hotel. I'm Aircrew, and it's such a welcoming place to arrive.

After an airline cancellation, Bryndis was super helpful getting us settled and sorting out transport for our impromptu Play Day. The hotel is a gem, with clean, efficient rooms and everything you'd want to reach within walking distance.

Hotel Keiler is a lovely place, with nice rooms and a handy spot in town. The staff were the best part, really friendly and helpful while we worked through a tough travel situation with Icelandair. I can't thank them enough. One thing to know, bring shampoo or ask about it when you arrive. There's a grocery store just a two-minute walk away for affordable basics.
