Hótel Ásbrú - Keflavik Airport

A peaceful, welcoming place with a nice lounge. Our rate was reasonable and matched what I expected, and I really liked staying here. We skipped breakfast, but the rooms were spacious and clean, with comfy beds, a big TV, and all the essentials. Parking is provided, and there's also a small fridge and an iron with an ironing board. There are pool and table tennis tables, though bring your own chalk for the pool table and a ball and bat for table tennis. It was warm and nice.

There aren't any shops near this hostel, so it's best to buy groceries at a supermarket before you arrive. The reception sells snacks and drinks, but they're outrageously expensive. An airport shuttle runs hourly and takes about eight minutes to reach the terminal. A ticket costs Kr. 600 per person. I had a private bedroom in a convenient, dorm-style suite, sharing a toilet and shower with one other guest. There was a heavy locked door to the hall and a locked door for each bedroom. Our schedules didn't clash, but I can imagine the bathroom being awkward if both rooms needed it at once. A shared kitchen had plenty of cups, mugs, plates, and bowls.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel had a quirky feel, with a large bar, lobby, and seating area. Our room was small but comfortable and practical. It's very close to the airport, good value for the money, and I'd definitely stay again.

Breakfast tasted good, but wasn't much: a few meats, cheese, toast, and eggs. The dining room felt cramped. The game room needs some care too. The arcade machine didn't work, and the table tennis table was broken, with only one ball. Still, we had a good experience and would stay again.
