Casablanca Apartments

We'd just spent about a week in Reykjavik with our family of six when cancelled flights and closed roads brought us to this place. We were lucky to find it, and really glad we did. It was the best place we stayed in Iceland, and we'd book again next time. The house has two separate rentals, one on the ground floor and one upstairs. We stayed in the ground-floor rental, which worked well for a family, a couple, or friends wanting a local-style Iceland stay. There's parking behind the house if you have a car.

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but future guests should know what we found. The twin room had a strange smell and just one pillow for two beds. The bathroom was extremely small, with a sink less than half the size of a normal one, and some lights didn't work. We also looked through the guest review book that had been left out. Many entries seemed biased politically and not genuine, as though the same person had written them. I'm Asian, and could tell that many of the reviews didn't look like they were written by native Chinese speakers. The area was awful too, with car doors, tyres, and scrap cars everywhere. I wouldn't stay there again.

The owner was super nice and helpful. The place itself was perfect, really clean, spacious, modern, and had everything we could need for our stay.

A great apartment for our final night in Iceland. The owner gave clear instructions, there was off-road parking, and the decor was done to a high modern standard.
