The guesthouse was clean and had an upstairs breakfast area where guests could leave leftovers before checking out. During the day, though, the renovations can be noisy. When I arrived at 4pm there was nobody at reception, which seemed early for the desk to be unattended. The beds had a slightly pungent smell and didn’t even have sheets. There were only two toilets for more than 20 guests, which wasn’t enough. I understand it’s cheap by Iceland standards, but I wouldn’t stay again.

We had a great one-night stay. There were several separate bathrooms with showers and toilets, and everything was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly. During Corona Time there were only a few other people around. Coffee and tea of any kind were free in the kitchen, which also had a fridge, toaster, and microwave. We’d recommend this accommodation.

We needed somewhere to wait out a wind storm that left me stranded in Iceland with 2800 other travelers. Most places were already booked, and this was adequate for that purpose. It was clean, with a couple of nearby restaurants that made things manageable. That’s why I gave it two stars. Still, don’t expect a 3-star hotel. It’s basically a hostel, with no front desk and a shared bathroom for 5 or more rooms, some with multiple beds. The property was under construction, and the shower drain was clogged, sending water into the bathroom and hallway. There was even a tool in the bathroom for pushing the water back, which made it seem like this happens often.

The staff were cool, the place was clean, and the airport schedule was included. Still, this was the worst guesthouse of our Iceland trip. It’s just a stopover place on the way to the airport, and it sits in an industrial area as part of a car rental business. The walls are so poor that everything vibrates, and there’s a corridor vent that sounds awful. People can arrive or leave at any hour, and the entrance door slamming kept me awake all night.

The rooms were warm, the beds comfortable, and the place very clean, with friendly staff and a nice location. The kitchen is basic, though: no oven, toaster, freezer, or hotplate. I also doubt there are enough bathrooms if the place is fully booked.
