The service was fabulous. When I lost my things, the staff were really kind and helpful, and I appreciated it a lot. The restaurants and bar are very nice, and my room was clean and tidy. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed one night on the way from Vik and headed to Diamond Beach the next morning. The location worked perfectly, and there’s a supermarket across the street if you’d rather pick something up and eat in your room. The hotel also has a nice restaurant and bar. The modern, cozy rooms were spacious, and the whole staff was terrific. Franck at the front desk was polite and gave us lots of useful information. There are monitors showing the weather forecast for tracking the Northern Lights. And the breakfast buffet was the best, with a wide range of high-quality food.

The aurora alert came around 7:30pm, and I could see the lights from my room before heading out for one of the best views I’ve had. The hotel’s aurora call service was amazing. For another viewing spot, try the nearby church. If you have a car, you can drive to the visitor centre or Stjórnarfoss parking area. We were warmly welcomed on 25 Nov 2025. The hotel felt cozy, the bathroom floors were heated, and breakfast was very good. The location is convenient for Stjórnarfoss and Systrafoss waterfalls, Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon about 12 minutes away, and the lava fields around 10 minutes away. Foss á Síðu waterfall, Dverghamrar basalt cliffs, and Fossálar roadside falls are nearby too.

The rooms were clean, cozy, and neat, though they’re on the small side. Otherwise, everything was perfect. You can spot the aurora here, and you can ask the hotel to give you a wake-up call if it appears.
