Lindartún Guesthouse

We had a lovely stay in one of the cottages. Ours had its own kitchen, a double bed in the bedroom, and a nice fold-out sofa bed, so it can sleep three or four people. The location, at the Reykjavik end of the south coast, was convenient since we were heading north next. We had little contact with the staff. There are also rooms in the main building with a shared kitchen; I assume those are nice too, but I didn't see them.

The beds were great, and the bathroom had a heated towel rack. Our room was big enough for me and my two teens without feeling cramped, even with wet clothes drying over every spare bit of space. The kitchen was large and well stocked, and there's a shop in town where you can pick up food. We enjoyed seeing the animals, though the cold, rainy weather kept us from spending time outside. We weren't sure what to expect on the drive out to Lindartún Guesthouse, but felt at home as soon as we arrived. It was a little farther from town than we'd expected, but we had a great experience and would stay again.

Really good value for money. The location was great, the service was as promised, and our room was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed staying here.

The room was clean, check-in was easy, and the location between Reykjavik and Vik was convenient. But that bed was awful, hard and springy. I couldn't sleep properly.
