I didn't actually stay here. I made a reservation through Booking.com in December, but there was a problem. The owner emailed to say the hotel was "booked" that night and the room wasn't actually available. Apparently, the hotel couldn't issue a refund through Booking.com. They eventually wired the money back, but my US bank took out fees. I'd check with the hotel to make sure it's truly "open" before booking in winter.

We had a really pleasant short stay and wished we could've stayed longer to try the coffee house. The guesthouse was great, with all the facilities we needed. The shared bathroom was lovely, and its two areas had heated floors.

The place is simple and comfortable, and I definitely recommend it for a stop. The ladies were very kind and helped us with cooking and laundry.

The rooms were small but warm. There wasn't any food available, not even dinner or something traditional like we'd seen mentioned in other information online. Really, it's just somewhere to sleep in the north of Iceland.
