The staff were warm and welcoming the whole time, and with few places to stay nearby, I hope the hotel deals with the issues I found. For about $325 a night through Delta Stays, the stay was passable, but it didn't feel worth the price or the 4-star rating. The room and bathroom were both small, and the queen mattress was lumpy. The decor, including the hallways, felt more like a quirky hostel or dorm than an upscale hotel, and there was visible wear, like peeling paint on the bathroom window sill. There were thoughtful robes for the hot tub, but nowhere in the room or bathroom to hang them afterward. More seriously, the hairdryer was missing its back intake cover. While I used it, my hair got pulled into the exposed fan and became painfully tangled; I had to cut it out. Management should inspect the dryers for safety. Overall, the room quality felt closer to 2-star than 4-star.

The service made the stay for me. Everyone was so nice and happy to chat a little, and they can even call you if the northern lights are out. Breakfast had loads of choices and was amazing. I really liked the room too. Loved staying here.

The facilities were gorgeous, with care put into the details, and we had a lovely meal at the restaurant. Our waitress was both warm and professional, and the food at the restaurant and bar was excellent, with thoughtful dishes and a high standard of quality. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The main concierge spoke excellent Spanish, which made things feel more comfortable and personal. Their care throughout our stay made a real difference. I'd absolutely recommend this hotel.

The lobby has a fun, rustic look, but my room was so tight there was barely space for two suitcases on the floor with room to walk around. I tried the hot tub late in the day and it was really dirty, gross to sit in. The beds weren't comfortable either.

The room and its amenities were comfortable, top-class, and better than we'd expected. Free parking was handy while we explored the area, where there are lots of attractions, though some visits depend on the weather. Walking into Mývatn – Berjaya Iceland Hotels, the decor and atmosphere looked beautiful and very well kept. I honestly didn't expect this kind of quality in a small town like Mývatn. Definitely worth staying here, and I'd recommend it to visitors.
