We had a wonderful time. The staff were so nice and friendly, and our room was clean and comfortable. It’s a great place to see the northern lights.

We slept so well that we skipped the included breakfast, though I was curious and went to look at the breakfast room at 11am, an hour after it had closed. The very kind person working there insisted we could still have breakfast and was super nice about it. The rooms were fine, and we had the best sleep of our trip. You can hear quite a bit from the neighbors, but I think we slept later than they did, so the noise didn’t cause us any problems :)

Handy spot for a short stay, with a few restaurants nearby. The room was okay, but there’s no soundproofing between rooms.

We had a quiet, pleasant two-night stay at the campground, with plenty of space, friendly staff, and lovely views over Lake Myvatn amid the lava fields. Hot showers are included. Laundry service was good too: leave your clothes at reception and collect them clean and dry the next morning. There’s a large tent for shelter, but no covered place to wash dishes. Excellent value for money.

The breakfast was really good, and otherwise we had a good stay. Just a heads-up, reception is easy to miss. It’s in the green building on the right as you drive in.
