Alfred's Premium Apartments

It's a roomy, beautifully designed apartment in a great spot on Laugavegur, Reykjavik's main outdoor shopping street, near the Hlemmur bus terminal. But it wasn't properly cleaned and had maintenance issues. The shower drained slowly, and some window blinds were partly off their tracks. Cooking was a challenge because the kitchen was so poorly equipped. There was only one small pot and one old pan, the drinking glasses were a sad assortment that looked like someone else's castoffs, and there were barely enough plates for five people. Kitchen utensils were very sparse. It could have been fabulous, but it fell short.

I stumbled across this place when everything else was booked, and I'm glad I found it. The apartment was much bigger than I needed on my own, but it made getting to the city's Cultural Night celebration easy. I could walk to every event from this central location. I'd love to return with friends and experience Reykjavik again.
