Atlantic Apartments and Rooms

The room was warm, and having a cooker in it was handy. The location was pretty good, and it had everything needed. The bathroom fan didn’t work, so taking a shower turned the room into a steam cloud. Still, for Reykjavik, it’s probably the best value place to stay. They also added a day to our schedule at the last minute. Friendly staff and good vibes for a two-star hotel.

The rooms are okay for a two-star hotel, and I especially liked having a mini kitchen with basic utensils. We could cook on a few nights when the weather was too bad to go out for dinner. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, which is the main reason I’m giving four stars. We stayed five nights, but no one came to clean the room or bring fresh towels. The rooms should be cleaned more often. The city center isn’t within walking distance, especially when it’s snowing, but bus stops for routes 14, 15, and 2 are nearby and take you into the center.

For a couple of nights, it was an okay place to stay. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, two stoves, and basic cooking utensils. The apartments are very small, though. There was no heater in the room, no room service, and our towels weren't replaced. The receptionist didn't help with the things we asked for.

The kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, plates, and utensils, and the room did save us money in an expensive country. But there were trade-offs. The bathroom smelled bad and could have been cleaner. The price also climbed with each person we added to the booking, and we were charged $35 a night for a rollaway bed that was missing parts and kept breaking.
