Hotel Eyja

Eyja was fabulous for our three nights. The rooms were clean, with a great mountain and water view, and they provided lovely toiletries. We also enjoyed the downstairs area for a happy hour drink, and the free tea and coffee were a nice touch. The parking was the one disappointment. The booking said it was included, which is why we picked this hotel over others, but one night we drove around for quite a while before a space opened up. It isn’t necessarily guaranteed, so that wording felt a bit misleading.

A BONUS supermarket just behind the hotel made it easy to pick up drinks and snacks, and Ísbúð Vesturbæjar (Vesturbæjarís) is nearby too. Their blended ice cream is famous, and absolutely delicious. The location is very central, handy for walking to shopping streets, restaurants, and major attractions. At Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel in Reykjavík, our room was comfortable, very clean, and well kept. We also appreciated the cozy, eco-friendly feel. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavík.

The view was spectacular, and it was only a simple 6-10 minute walk into town. Breakfast was delicious too. This was our first stop in Iceland, and we felt lucky to have chosen it to start the holiday. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the staff kept helping us and answering all our many questions throughout the stay.

After a week of sightseeing, Hotel Eyja felt like the right place to stay. The location was great, and the staff were kind and accommodating with every request. Our room had plenty of space and storage for our gear. The shower was fantastic, with the best hot water and pressure I’ve ever had. There’s a lovely breakfast buffet, plus simple dinners that hit the spot after a long day out.
