Hotel Ísland - Spa & Wellness Hotel

Getting around was easy, with buses picking up right outside the hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful every time we interacted with them. Breakfast each morning was fresh and well done. We had a great stay.

We stayed the night on our wedding day, and it was a perfect experience. David and the team, especially Emily, looked after us so well and made us feel special. The rooms were good quality with comfortable beds, and the staff were lovely. It was quiet, so we slept really well, and breakfast was very good. My family stayed in different types of rooms and everyone was happy. Highly recommend!

The hotel is in a peaceful area on the edge of Reykjavík, with lovely views of the surrounding mountains. It felt relaxing, and I’d highly recommend staying here if you travel to Reykjavík. The breakfast buffet is paid, and the staff there were friendly and helpful. The bar has a happy hour that I believe runs from 5pm to 6pm, with food and drinks. At reception, the helpful staff gave us directions into downtown Reykjavík. The lobby felt warm and quiet, with the desk to the left and comfortable seating in front. There are two accessible lifts to the floors, useful if you have lots of luggage or don’t want to take the stairs. Our beds were comfortable and tidy, and the bathroom was neat, with a shower, plenty of towels, toilet paper and soaps. The bedside lamp has an X-shaped holder where you can rest an iPhone to charge it. There’s a QR code to order food and drinks to the room, and service was quick. About four metres in front of the beds, there was a tray with tea, coffee, sugar and similar things, plus a mini fridge. There was also a mirror near the bed, though I felt it could have been cleaned better. Depending on the room size, there may be a table and chair for reading or relaxing. A modern, high-tech phone was provided too.

The room was so hot it was unbearable, even though the window was open when we arrived, not just cracked. They clearly knew how hot it got. It was extremely uncomfortable. The rooms were decent, but not the cleanest. There were two hairs in the bathroom shower, so it seemed it hadn’t been cleaned. Breakfast was sad, and I didn’t like staff hovering and watching everyone while we ate. Our tour company, Arctic Adventures, placed us here, but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.
