Island Apartments

We had a great little apartment for our family trip. It was clean and nicely set up, and the kitchen was really useful. Most tourist spots were easy to reach on foot, with bus stops along the street. There isn’t staff onsite 24/7, but emails were answered in under 30 minutes. We didn’t have any problems, just a few questions.

The building looks unassuming, but you can walk to everything, and the location is excellent. The rooms are tiny, with nice en suite bathrooms, a microwave, fridge, TV, toiletries, towels, and plenty of toilet paper. There’s no reception, so it’s self-service. Our room faced a very busy street that stayed noisy until 2 a.m. The blinds didn’t block out the night sky, and our defective window wouldn’t close all the way, letting in a lot of road noise.

I wish I could have stayed longer at Island Apartments. It’s really convenient for shops, supermarkets, and attractions, and bus stop 6 is just 10 minutes away, which is handy for booking tours.

The apartment itself is quite nice, but road noise can be an issue if you’re a light sleeper. Local drilling started at 0830 and ran until 1800, so sleeping in or relaxing in the afternoon wasn’t an option. I was disappointed that they didn’t tell us about the work before we confirmed the booking.
