Laugavegur Appartements

The bathroom smelled awful and even had mold. The apartment clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages, some kitchen items were missing, the WiFi didn’t work, and there was constant banging from upstairs. We contacted the landlord and nothing was done. Awful experience, never again.

It’s a self service apartment, but there’s a phone just outside to call if you need anything. The internet was reliable, the temperature indoors was just right, and there’s free parking behind the building. Very well located.

The WiFi worked, and the city center is about 15 minutes away. But if you’re unlucky enough to get the basement apartment, there’s no proper window. A few broken lights and a bathroom that wasn’t very clean made me feel like I should have stayed somewhere else.

There’s parking if you have a car, and the location works well for getting around the city. It’s also close to Hlemmer, where tour companies and the Flybus pick up. The apartment is open and airy, with a full kitchen and enough full size twin beds for five people. The fridge doesn’t have a freezer. A busy road next door brings some noise, especially with the windows open, and the internet is slow and seems sensitive to load. The hot water has an odor, apparently from an older geothermal supply. There’s no accessible entrance, and the steps are very steep.
