Old Town Reykjavik

Check-in went smoothly and the instructions were clear. The room was clean and cosy, with comfortable beds, fresh linens, a pleasant surprise view from the window, and Wi-Fi that worked well. Everything in Reykjavik was within walking distance from this central spot. A good choice for a short stay, clean and comfortable.

It was a terrible stay, and getting in touch with customer service was a headache. We ended up booking another hotel because the bathrooms and hallway were dirty. This is sold as a hotel, but in reality it felt like a hostel. I knew the price meant I shouldn't expect much, but the experience was still bad. It even worked out expensive, since we found a full-service hotel for just $25 usd more. I wouldn't recommend it.

We had booked a room ahead of time and received the check-in instructions a day beforehand, as expected. Then, that morning, we saw a message saying they wouldn't accommodate us. We contacted customer support and got no response. With our child still with us, we had to find somewhere else on our own. We found accommodation, but don't know whether we'll get a refund. It was a very unpleasant situation.

The location and cleanliness each earn a star from me. Cheap parking is impossible to find, and everything else is pared down to the minimum. Even though breakfast was included, it was nowhere near a real breakfast. It's okay for a stay, just don't expect much.
