Grand-Inn Bar and Bed

We stopped in for a drink on a whim while driving the ring road, since it was right by our hotel. The beer selection was great, and the host was incredibly nice. The garden is beautiful too. Definitely worth dropping in after dinner.

We were comfortable here, and the rooms were nice. There’s a shared kitchen, too. Make sure to try one of the local beers at the Bar downstairs!

Had a great time in this little gem, drinking tasty beer and chatting with Snow. She answered all our questions about life in Iceland without making us feel foolish for asking. Would definitely recommend it.

There’s accommodation next door, run as a separate business, and both places share a very unusually large pub garden. The bar itself is a rare find for Iceland, with a good choice of beers from local breweries. The landlady is a natural at it: patient, knows her regulars and her beers, and still makes accidental tourists and well-informed visitors feel welcome.
