We paid about $370 USD, and for that price this was absolutely not worth it. The dated room and its location down a long dirt road in the middle of nowhere felt worth $100-110 USD a night at most. We wish we had a better review to leave. There was a reservation mix-up: we thought we'd booked for four, but apparently it was for two. We didn't know, so all three of us slept in one bed and didn't ask for extra towels, blankets or anything else. Nobody even showered because the shower was small and terrible. Still, as we were leaving after just one night, the owner chased us down and demanded more money. He wasn't understanding and came across as unfriendly and focused on money. He charged us another $15000 ISK, saying it was a deal. We felt at most $10000 ISK would have made sense, especially since the room listing said it sleeps three anyway. He only had to remake two beds and wash two towels. We'd all arrived together, unloaded the car outside while it was still light, and he saw us but said nothing. It felt like he waited until the last minute to ask for more money without doing any extra work to accommodate more people. We were easy, clean guests and even washed all the dishes. If you book here, double-check the room reservation, or you may find him watching from the window and waiting to charge you more.

Getting there meant driving some tough roads, but the owner greeted us warmly and right away offered help planning the next day's itinerary. Our lodge was tiny, cute and warm, with a great private restroom. The kitchen had what we needed for a basic meal or breakfast. It was a lovely place for a quiet, isolated stay.

The owner also runs a restaurant for guests, and the meal we had there was the best food of our trip. You need to request the menu and decide a day ahead whether and what you'll eat. We had the lamb filet and baked cod, and both were extremely good. We stayed in the beautiful farmhouse, built in 1903, and loved the furniture and views. The shower was very nice, and the kitchen had everything we needed for morning coffee and tea. A great location on a cute farm.

The place feels very old, and the shower drains so slowly that I had to stop and wait for the water before continuing. There was no key for the room, and the lock was complicated to use both ways. You have to be careful when leaving, or you could lock yourself out, and in the middle of the night you might not be able to reach the owner.

We really enjoyed our stay in the comfortable, pleasant rooms. The host was very kind, even though we arrived late for check-in. The place is tucked away in a valley, so it's out of the way, but wonderfully quiet and has a great view.
