The hostel was clean, quiet and spacious, and it met our needs. The location is perfect, right by Skogafoss, but this was one of our most expensive stays in Iceland. For the price, the amenities were about the same as, or even below, those at some other places we stayed, so I’m not sure the room was worth it.

Skogafoss is right nearby, and it’s an easy drive as far as Diamond Beach. The kitchen is well stocked, and the rooms are spacious and kept up well. But the showers were often freezing, and breakfast was pretty pricey at $20 if you chose to pay for it.

I stayed one night because I had a job interview nearby, and it worked out nicely. There’s a good workspace where I could do the interview, plus a free coffee machine and shampoo.

For a hostel, this was pretty good. We couldn't find anywhere to stay in Vik in the summer, so this was one of the few places available, and we spent two nights here. Hot water was no problem, even with busy showers at night. The place was fairly clean, there was a sink in our room, and parking was plentiful. Towels were provided, the shower had a hair dryer and shampoo, and the free Wi-Fi was fast enough for me to download and play videos. The free coffee machine in the kitchen was nice too. Staff and the owner were quick to help. We called because the locks confused us, and the owner drove over within minutes. Our room was small, barely enough space to open two suitcases at once, and you could hear everything in the hallway, including people using the smart locks and shutting doors. In our room, we almost had to slam the door to get it fully closed, sorry everyone. Light sleepers might struggle. There were USB A and C charging outlets in the room, with regular outlets out in the hallway. On our floor, around 10 rooms shared three showers and two bathrooms, so at busy times in the morning and evening you might have to wait. There were two cafes nearby, but they closed early, at 4 pm and 6 pm.

The rooms were clean, and there's a kitchen guests can use. But we had cold showers many times because there was usually no hot water. The combination locks make a pretty loud sound when you lock or unlock the doors, and you can hear them from inside your room all night. It gets annoying.
