We didn’t feel welcome at all, and the stay was deeply uncomfortable. The owner was rude and seemed to dislike having guests, as if she was only there for the money. She opened the door holding the card machine and demanded payment for the hugely overpriced room before we could put our bags down. She was also angry that we arrived 15 minutes late, even though we’d called ahead. At breakfast, she took away our plates and cleared the food while we were still eating, effectively pushing us out of the kitchen. The facilities are old and the soundproofing is poor. This was the one bad experience in our 10 days in Iceland. There are plenty of similar reviews on other booking sites. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We stopped here while heading north. It’s a pleasant family-run place, simple rather than fancy, and clean and inexpensive. Worked well for a night on the road.
