Apotek guesthouse

When a storm closed the road to Höfn, the owner was willing to accept our last-minute cancellation. We really appreciated that honest gesture and had a very good experience with them.

I arrived late, but the owner had sent clear instructions for getting into my room. It was clean, comfortable, a good size, and had everything I needed. Guests can use the shared dining room outside regular hours too, whether to make tea or put together a sandwich. There is free parking at the property, though the spaces are limited. I had no trouble: I used the large lot opposite the first night, then found a space at the guesthouse the next night. Apotek Guesthouse is a lovely little bed-and-breakfast style place in the centre of Hofn. There are nice restaurants within walking distance, and I would definitely recommend Pakkhús Restaurant.

A lovely little B&B with clean, modern rooms and comfortable beds. Bring your own shampoo and shower gel. Breakfast is coffee or tea, juice, cereal, and yogurt, and free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available throughout the day. There is free parking in front of the house.

After a long day of driving, it was great to have snacks available and a warm welcome from the staff. The beds were comfy, the room a decent size, and the shower had excellent pressure. Apotek Guesthouse worked really well for a quick overnight stop, and I think it would suit a longer visit too.
