Reynivellir

We wish we’d had more time at this cottage. It was spacious, warm, and cozy, with a beautiful interior and views that were out of this world. At reception, the staff gave us a little drawing to help us find it, which was so creative. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. We also had dinner at a nearby restaurant, one of the best meals we’ve had. This is definitely one of our favorite places we stayed in Iceland, and we’d love to come back.

The view is stunning, and the rooms, bathrooms, and shared area are all very spacious. There are traditional breakfast and dinner restaurants very close by.

It’s a quiet area, close to Diamond Beach and the Glacier Lagoon. The cottage is cute and clean, and although it’s a bit older, it has a nice charm. We stayed one night, had a lot of fun, and found the beds comfortable. The internet was good too.

We barely slept. When we turned out the lights, small flying insects in the room started biting us, so we left the lights on all night because that seemed to distract them a little. The farmhouse room was tiny and had just one small table and one socket, with nowhere on the walls to hang clothes or towels. There wasn’t much sound insulation either. Quiet hours were supposed to start at 23:00, but people were using the shower and kitchen until midnight. The kitchen was okay, but trash bins blocked the emergency exit. This stay wasn’t worth the money.
