KEX Thingeyri

Kristinn was generous, attentive, and a really interesting person. He served us a hearty, delicious meal of risotto, curry, vegetables, and lovely bread in a dining room with more style and character than a typical Icelandic hotel. The rooms were spotless and had a contemporary look, and the shower and the liquid soap and body wash were excellent. My skin felt great afterward. Parking and wifi were easy to access for free. It was a warm and welcoming stop on our Westfjords road trip, and I’d highly recommend Kristinn,s hotel to anyone traveling in the area. Thank you, Kristinn!

We only stopped in for dinner, since we weren’t staying at the hotel, and the meal was fantastic. The seafood had been caught that day, every dish felt distinctive, and the prices were remarkably reasonable by Icelandic standards for food this elevated. The spacious dining room has a laid-back feel, and there’s a strong beer selection too. I’d highly recommend a visit if you’re spending an evening in town.

The bar is thoughtfully put together and makes for an easygoing place to unwind, while the service is professional without feeling stiff. We also enjoyed the well-prepared food. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the atmosphere calm. With peaceful surroundings, KEX in the Westfjords is one of the best places to stay in the area. I couldn’t recommend it more.

We arrived in the village pretty late, but Christin was so kind and helpful. He sorted us out with delicious lamb soup and sandwiches, then gave us great advice for the rest of our trip. Breakfast was good too, with a nice variety of things like fruit, yogurt, and jam. Such a warm welcome!
