Frost & Fire Guesthouse

The surroundings were lovely, with a river and little geyser-like spots where lots of steam rises from the ground. Since it’s a bit away from the city, we were lucky to catch the Northern Lights too. Breakfast was nice in a magnificent greenhouse-like room, and the hotel itself is beautiful, with outdoor hot tubs and a sauna. Our room was quite small, and the toilet’s sliding door wouldn’t close all the way.

After a walk or time exploring the national park, you can relax in the hot tub and then head in for a drink and dinner. You really should eat here, the food is excellent. It’s a cozy place to stay, with a nice town and some great walks close by.

We had a really nice stay and the hotel would be my first choice in the area. The pools were lovely for sitting and enjoying the view, and boiling eggs in the geothermal pool was a lot of fun. There’s a small waterfall you can walk to. Breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable, and the location is beautiful.

We loved our two nights here. From our bedroom in October, we spotted the Northern Lights and spent an hour on the deck watching and taking pictures. The staff were kind and helped arrange tours and taxis, and with our luggage. The restaurant was lovely and the food delicious. My only complaint is that the bathroom sink in the room was tiny, which says a lot.
