The room was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds, a decent kitchen, and complimentary coffee capsules. Parking was free and accessible, the location was good, and we were able to check in just half an hour after booking at the last minute. Those were the bright spots. A few things went wrong. The room didn’t match the listing photos, especially the bathroom and kitchen, which were less modern than shown. We hadn’t received check-in instructions by email, though we booked only half an hour before arriving, so that may have been why. More troubling, the room number and code we were given opened a room where other guests were already staying. When we called, the woman sounded annoyed and snorted, as if we were at fault. It was unsettling to think someone else might have access to our room. We were also yelled at ten minutes before checkout.

The kitchenette had what I needed to make meals, and the bedroom was good. I especially liked finding a few coffee capsules for the machine. Iceland is expensive, so being able to have a decent coffee in the room was a nice touch. There’s no room service or daily cleaning, though.

We had a larger family room that fit the four of us well, and the beds were comfortable. There’s a kitchen in each unit, as far as I could tell, with basic utensils, pots and pans, and a small fridge. It’s self check-in, so look out for the email with entry instructions. The luggage storage was useful, and the place is close to a bus stop for getting around.

This worked really well for a one-night stop before heading out to explore the island, though staying longer would be fine too. The room was clean and updated, with a kitchen, and there was some parking. It’s handy for getting to and from the airport and reaching the ring road in either direction. The main shopping and tourist area, with restaurants, is about a 15-minute walk away, so the price feels like a good deal. I’d stay again. If a room with a view matters to you, this may not be the place.
