Hotel Santa Lucia

The sea view was beautiful, and everything else went well too, from the restaurant team to room service. Valentina at reception really stood out. She was warm, gave excellent customer service, and did everything she could to make sure I was looked after.

The hotel, restaurant, and staff were all great, and that helped make up for the location. There's nothing nearby to walk to unless you're up for climbing hills. Driving back can take three times as long, though it's a useful base for visiting places like Taormina and the surrounding area.

The staff were the best, so thoughtful and welcoming, and dinner was incredibly delicious.

The pool area was clean and pretty, the resident cat was lovely, and the location made good restaurants just minutes away. The restaurant food we had sent to the room was really nice, though the restaurant staff made us feel awkward and unwelcome, so we paid the extra room service charge instead. The minibar was stocked, but its loose fuse kept cutting out and nothing stayed cold. Our stay was okay in general, but the noise was surprisingly bad for a four-star hotel. We couldn't sleep past 8:30 or 9 in the morning. The receptionist kindly offered another room and spoke to the cleaning staff, but after we asked them to keep the noise down, there was grass cutting outside our door at 9:30 the next day. A dead patient outside reception was there much longer, then removed after two days. Strange for such a nice place.
