Calicantus B&B

Il Calicantus feels like a little haven of calm and hospitality. I was enchanted by the garden, which is full of flowers and so well looked after, a lovely spot to pause and relax. The owner is a special, kind, and welcoming person who makes you feel at home right away. She greets you with a genuine smile and is ready to help sort out any request or problem. My room was spotless, tidy, carefully maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable, peaceful night. Breakfast was another treat: homemade desserts each morning, fragrant and authentic, made with simple ingredients and real care for tradition. I had such a lovely stay at this B&B. A top rating is well deserved, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat and some human warmth.

We had a wonderful welcome, then walked through a lush garden to reach the lower level of the house. Everything is laid out well. Our room was the first on the left as you enter, and it was spacious, with a perfect en-suite bathroom and everything well equipped. The king-size bed was especially comfortable. Breakfast deserves a mention too: it was homemade, generous, and a real delight.

Maria Pia is a lovely person who looks after her guests with care and dedication. She’s attentive to everyone’s needs and always available. The breakfast was excellent, especially the delicious homemade focaccias and desserts. We stayed for several weeks while a family member was receiving hospital treatment, and Maria Pia’s big heart and steady care made that difficult stretch less tiring. Absolutely recommended.

The garden is beautifully kept, and the collection of cacti and succulents is fantastic. Inside, the B&B is quiet, with a spacious, spotless room, a clean large shower, and a very comfortable queen-size bed. The owner was exceptionally kind. She made us a fantastic breakfast with homemade Ligurian cakes and focaccia, and we had a pleasant, interesting chat with her. Highly recommended!
