The pool was the highlight for me: a good size for a few strokes, pleasantly warm, and with a lovely view. Paolo and his dad were both very nice, too. The house was okay, though it didn’t feel very welcoming, even if the photos had looked promising. The rough gravel roads are the clear downside, with large stones and ruts that aren’t kind to your car.

The house has everything we needed, including a dishwasher, washing machine, ping pong and foosball tables, and a barbecue. There’s even a pool just for you. The owners are lovely, and the views, quiet setting, and closeness to beautiful places made it fantastic. The dirt road to the farmhouse is the one drawback, though after a while you get used to it and it stops bothering you much.

Set among nature, this farmhouse is a lovely escape from the city's bustle. It’s carefully furnished and has everything you need. Fabro in Umbria is about ten minutes away, while Rome takes roughly an hour and a half to reach.
