I found the Masseria Chinunno website by chance while looking for somewhere quiet near Altamura. The surroundings looked so beautiful that I booked a room, and the place turned out to feel magical. The area was wonderful, the room was great, and the staff were amazingly kind and helpful. A simple breakfast is included, and you can also have lunch, including takeaway, or dinner there if you need to. The meals are fantastic, made with natural ingredients. If you want to relax among the countryside and farm animals, or walk and explore the forest around the B&B, this is a good place for it. Altamura town center is 10 minutes away by car, and Matera is 25 minutes away. I recommend the Masseria 100%.

Even when it was in the 40s, the many trees kept the place quite pleasant. There are lots of activities for kids and adults, plus a good restaurant nearby if you need one, though you have to book a meal in advance. Water from the fountain is free, and there’s also a bar and clean toilets. It works well for wheelchairs and strollers too. A lovely place for a day out, especially with family, and good for parties as well.

There are horse rides here, along with high and low ropes courses for children and adults, priced reasonably according to height. The pine woodland is lovely, with a playground for children and picnic tables you pay to use.
