Gianfranco, who owns and manages this lovely little hotel in upper Amalfi, was the kind of host you hope to find. He looked after every part of our visit, from booking restaurant tables to sharing useful travel tips. We stayed in the sea view suite, with a wonderful outlook over the city and sea and a private balcony where we could sit and enjoy it.

The mountain view made every morning feel special, and the whole place had a warm, welcoming feel that made us comfortable right away. We had a great time at Casa Mao. The rooms were spotless, well cared for, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. I’d gladly return and highly recommend it for a getaway.

We had a great room, and Gianfranco was a friendly, helpful host. The shower was incredible. There are a few stairs, which is to be expected in Amalfi and didn't bother us. I think luggage services are available at the port if you need them. Grazie mille from Mitch and Ella 🇦🇺🤙🏼

Gian Franco made our two days in Amalfi special. He had lots of suggestions and even helped with our luggage. He was the most generous and accommodating host we had on this trip. The room was spacious, clean, modern, and loft-style, with a spectacular view. It’s about five minutes from the square, up a bit of a climb, but the view and room make it worthwhile. The house is a heritage home where his grandfather lived. He was a well-known sculptor in Amalfi, and you can see his work on the city’s walls. A really interesting detail about the place.

We loved our two-night stay. The big, modern room was clean, and the view took our breath away when Gianfranco brought us up from the bus station. There were lots of fragrance diffusers around, so the whole place smelled heavenly, and we especially liked the large bathroom and hot shower. A few days before we arrived, Gianfranco sent the check-in details along with restaurant suggestions and ideas for things to do in Amalfi. He was helpful throughout our trip, replied quickly when we needed something, and shared plenty of local knowledge. Thanks for a great stay. We’ll be back!
