Months later, I still think fondly of our time at Poderi Firenze and hope we can come back soon. The rooms and pool were spotless when we returned, and breakfast was delicious, with Mrs. Flavia bringing out something different each day. The place itself feels peaceful and harmonious, with so much care in everything Mrs. Flavia does. Her welcome was truly special. Five stars hardly feels like enough.

Flavia and Valeria make you feel at home in this lovely old stone building, renovated while keeping its original charm. It sits above the fields and vineyards, away from the tourist crowds, with a real Tuscan feel. Nearby, within about 60 kilometers, you can reach Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pitigliano, the sea, Castigliano della Pescaia, and the Maremma region. Grosseto is exceptional, and Rintocco in Cinigiano is a great place to eat. Beautiful spot, with breathtaking views.

The silence here is something else. With the nearest neighbors about a kilometer away, the nights get completely dark and quiet once you close the shutters. It’s an extraordinary feeling. They also make very good wine, and the tasting is well organized, so be sure to try the local wines. A really pleasant place, especially for couples. Highly recommended.
