There were twenty of us, and they set us up at a long table on the outdoor terrace with great service. The large pasta dishes made for sharing suited our family group perfectly, especially the truffle ravioli. We'd come spontaneously one summer evening for dinner while renting a villa nearby. The restaurant is right off the motorway, so we hadn't planned on the dark half-hour walk there. We needed taxis back, and the staff kindly called them for us. July 2023

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and even arranged surprise breakfast and dinner for my wife's birthday. We also enjoyed the food and drinks there. The hotel is just outside Arezzo, with lovely views of the surrounding hills, and our room was comfortable. I'd recommend staying at Casa Volpi and eating at its restaurant.

The place doesn't match how it's presented. The garden outside is neglected, with old, broken chairs, and the whole house seems poorly maintained. The restaurant wasn't good either. They served us rabbit that had been cooked days earlier. The owners don't seem to care much about keeping the garden and house in better shape.

It was my first time in Italy, and my room looked out over downtown Arezzo. The place was peaceful and tranquil, just right for a retreat. The food was fantastic, and the owners were amiable. Highly recommend.

Dinner started with a list of things they couldn't provide. The menus on the table turned out not to apply that evening, and the Chianti I asked for wasn't available either. We also weren't given an itemized account of what we still had to pay. Earlier, despite paying for a Superiore room, we were told only a Classico was available. The room we got was a three-bed space under the roof, on the top floor, with no view. It felt like promises were made and then not kept, and we felt misled. It's a shame, because the place could have been lovely. We won't be back and can't recommend it.
