Hotel Dei Priori

Getting there by car takes a bit of care, but it’s doable. I made it in an S class Mercedes, just take your time on the narrow streets and don’t get stressed. We only spent one night, yet it was one of my best hotel experiences, especially for the price. The friendliness and customer-focused attitude were so good that many five-star hotels could learn from it. I’d give it six stars if I could.

After trying a lot of places in Assisi, I can say this is easily the best one for me. It’s a unique experience, with a great location, clean and spacious rooms, and a really positive feel. Breakfast was rich and varied.

The shower is good and the water pressure is strong. The bed is small, but clean. The location is central, though getting there with luggage is hard if you’re not very fit. The view of the main square isn’t as good as the booking site description suggested, and the rooms have worn, “antique” furniture.

Everything is very convenient from this hotel, right in the middle of Assisi’s main strip. At dinner, the servers were consistently polite and helpful, though they served tomato sauce pasta two nights in a row. Room quality varied depending on which one you got, regardless of the room size you selected.
