Hotel Pallotta Assisi

We only stayed one night in August, but quickly fell for the place. The Lavanda room was comfortable and very clean, with everything we needed and a lovely window view over Assisi. The hotel is handy for the main sights and right in the center. We were welcomed warmly, and they were flexible at both check-in and check-out. With our suitcase situation being complicated, they even held our bags at the hotel for a few hours after check-out. Highly recommended! :)

I ended up here at the last minute at night after a bad Airbnb that cost more than twice as much per night, and the owners kindly made room for me. They were gracious, and patient about speaking English with me. It’s a classic, welcoming small-town European hotel, so don’t let the low price put you off. Call for better rates and quicker service than a third party. The room had lots of character, with an antique desk and side tables, a full-length mirror, and a comfortable bed. It was really spacious and VERY clean. Though right in the town center, it stayed quiet at night. There’s homemade breakfast for free and hot tea you can help yourself to anytime.

The views from our room and the observatory/reading room were breathtaking, and it was an easy walk to the sights and their delicious restaurant Trattoria. We came from Canada last year on our first Italy trip, drawn to Assisi and the hotel photos, and it didn’t disappoint. Stefano and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast and coffee were delicious each morning. The other guests always seemed happy and well rested. I’ll definitely stay again. We stayed as a family with four young children in January 2016 and had a great time. The rooms were basic and on the small side, but cozy and good value. The hosts were very warm, laid out a good breakfast, and even gave us toys for the kids, a guidebook, plus free water and snacks. The hotel is picturesque, surrounded by good restaurants, and sits in a stunning spot in the old town. There’s a shared lounge on the top floor with an incredible view over the city and countryside. The owners also run a restaurant in a nearby piazza, which is definitely worth trying.
