I came for a yoga retreat in April this year, and the scenery and natural surroundings were magical. Most of the staff were fantastic. The reception ladies went out of their way to help and were always very friendly. The lovely restaurant lady and the two young waiters were also kind, helpful and efficient, with outstanding service. Simone was very flamboyant and friendly on our first night with the group, a little over the top. But on day five, when my friend and I had lunch there, our food wasn’t hot enough, so we asked to have it warmed more. That was the only meal that wasn’t great. The lovely lady apologized and was very sweet, but Simone brought the food back rudely and with such negative energy that it pretty much spoiled the rest of our stay. I’m not sure I’d return because of that, though I’m very grateful to the rest of the staff.

The view and setting are breathtaking, and we really enjoyed our time here. The staff were especially friendly, and the pool and sauna are both well worth using. What I liked most was the hotel’s genuine, authentic feel. I’d tell the owners not to change it too much or rush to modernize it. Places like this are the kind of authentic gems people will be looking for again. All you need to do here is rest and enjoy yourself.

This is a lovely spot on a hill between Asissi and Spello, though it sits in a green area and you can’t walk to a city from the hotel. We stayed in downstairs room 55, which had an incredible view and felt like being in a private house. Room 56 might offer a little more privacy since it’s tucked in a corner. The restaurant is well placed, with outdoor seating for a relaxed meal. The bathtub really needs updating.

The interiors are magnificent, and the surrounding nature is amazing. My partner and I spent a weekend here and had a great time. The staff were helpful and friendly. It felt like paradise, and I’d highly recommend it.

After 20 years away, we came back for the first time and were delighted that the place still felt just as magical. Getting there means taking a long, winding track, though the road surface is better if you come via Armenzano. It’s a peaceful haven with stunning views, lovely food, charming service and a very nice pool. Guests can also use a second, larger infinity pool about a mile further up the track. A special hidden gem in the hills above Assisi.
