I stayed here in 2012 with a big school group, and even though we were noisy, the staff were really friendly. The restaurant was great, with the best food I had during my 10 days in Italy. The hotel was nice and clean, right next to one of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen and near Assisi. All in all, I had an amazing stay.

You can get to the Basilica in less than a minute on foot, so this is about as close as you can stay to "Santa Maria degli Angeli" Basilica and the "inside" Porziuncola. There is a small guarded parking area with room for some cars, and free parking is available in a nearby square. The area generally feels safe. Just keep in mind that rooms facing the Basilica can be a little noisy from the road, especially on Saturday night when lots of people are down in the square.

The black waitress was so nice and worked her butt off to make sure we were comfortable. Amazing!

Aurelia was especially great. She made sure we were comfortable the whole time and made our stay wonderful.
