Suite Umberto I

We had a quadruple room, only a little larger than a double, with one fairly small double bed and two single beds. It also came with a fridge, a small desk, a kettle, and a compact but functional bathroom. The location is handy if you want to get to central Assisi easily. It’s in the upper part of a building with several apartments, near the main entrance and convenient for the Church of Santa Chiara. But noise was a real problem. We could hear even the slightest sounds from the neighboring rooms, and the property sits on a hairpin bend where passing traffic and road noise are very loud. Not much of a place to rest.

The historic center is an easy walk from the rooms, which sit just outside Assisi’s walls. Inside, everything was clean and welcoming, and the beds were really comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, with scented towels and plenty of toiletries. Highly recommended.

The spacious apartment was fairly clean and tidy, and the parking was both convenient and plentiful. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the historic center. Very good value for money.

We were 12 staying at Suite Umberto I in Assisi, and it worked out perfectly for us. We could explore the city easily, then enjoy the quiet around the accommodation. The rooms were carefully maintained and immaculately clean, with fresh sheets and towels, plenty of toilet paper, and everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The owner was always kind, attentive, and ready to help. We accidentally left a phone in one of the apartments, and she promptly arranged to send it to us. There’s ample parking too, and it’s a great choice for families. In summer, guests can use a beautiful pool for free, just a 10-minute drive away. We’d definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
