The playroom beside the bar was a real help for us. Our kids, aged 5 and 7, happily spent a couple of hours there before dinner, and we could enjoy some quiet time. You can’t hear the children from the bar. After skiing, that lounge and bar is also a nice place for a drink, tea or a book. We were a family of four staying for a week of skiing at Hotel Castor. The room was cozy and spotless, and the food was incredible. Everyone was so helpful, from the restaurant team to the reception staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and the restaurant staff were so warm that we even got big hugs at the end of the holiday. It really felt like family. There’s a free ride to the gondola if you call, and they come pick you up, even though it’s only about a 10-minute walk. The family-run feel is clear, and you can tell how much care goes into the hotel and its guests. Hermon, the owner, seems to be everywhere, hosting wine tastings and Tuesday music nights, collecting guests from the slopes, then pouring wine later in the evening. Hotel Castor is the best place we’ve ever stayed. We’d love to come back in summer, and can’t wait to see you all again. x

The rooms are cleaned every day, and the hotel has a really stylish feel. Reception were as helpful as you could hope for, and the restaurant staff were fantastic. The food was first class. If service matters to you on holiday, I’d definitely recommend Hotel Castor in Champoluc.

We’d definitely return. It’s a very cozy hotel, the staff are so friendly, and both breakfast and dinner were very good. There was a huge range of wine too.

The local ingredients really came through in the superb food at Hotel Castor. I had a fantastic dinner, enjoyed the evening, and was looked after by great restaurant staff. I’d highly recommend eating there.

The lounge and bar have a lovely atmosphere, and were a fun place to unwind after skiing. We had a comfortable room, tastefully decorated, facing the front garden, with a modern en suite bathroom. Everyone on staff was genuinely helpful. This is a charming, successful traditional family-run hotel. The restaurant serves delicious home-cooked Italian food, with a large wine list and a well-stocked cellar. The owner and his wife are both sommeliers.
