Palazzo Calò

I came to Bari for work, and Palazzo Calo’ was a big surprise. It's a fantastic boutique hotel in the old town, with clean rooms and an amazing breakfast. I'll definitely be back.

Bari became our favourite city in Italy, and we loved being able to explore it on foot. Palazzo Calo sits among local homes, so wandering the little lanes and meeting people who live there became some of our best memories. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the dining room was well run and pleasant. Breakfast included cakes, croissants, meat, cheese, vegetables, and scrambled eggs. We visited for a week in November, outside the busy season. Fitting modern facilities into an old building must be difficult, and I think the hotel has handled those limits well. Our room had a loft bed, though, so if stairs are a problem, ask for a room without one when you book.

The location in Bari was nice, and the walls were a little thin. I might have chosen somewhere else if I’d known the bed was up in a loft.

The owner was so personable and suggested a fabulous Primitivo to go with dinner. We also loved the restaurant food. The rooms were lovely, and the hotel is close to everything, including a straight walk of about 10 minutes to the train station. I’d highly recommend it for a stay in Bari.
