Casa Anna

The photos all show stunning views, which is what convinced me, but our apartment looked nothing like that. The photos of ours show it. Apartment 1B has no view. From the balcony, I felt like a parking lot guard, and the bedrooms were basically underground. Opening the windows meant looking at gas bottles, which was unpleasant. I had to call to find out how to check in and got the instructions over the phone. After they had flooding in the basement, the person I spoke with never contacted me again. When we left, nobody even texted to ask if everything was okay. I guess with so many apartments and wealthier guests from other countries, we were treated like second-class guests. I’m glad for the guests who got the owner’s full attention, enjoyed peace and quiet, and had the whole house or very quiet neighbors. The bathroom was awful, more what I’d expect from a 1-star place: mold, dampness, and towels that smelled disgusting. The bedrooms had a smell I can’t really describe. Don’t open those windows either, unless you want another look at the gas bottles. In the kitchen, we had one wine glass and no proper cutting knife, so cooking was out. I was going to list the garage as the only positive, but it was full of trash and smelled terrible. The plaster was falling off in places, and there was dampness everywhere. There’s no sound insulation at all. You can hear people peeing, pooping, showering, and having sex. We barely slept until the whole house finally went to bed. Then at 7:00 a.m. the housekeeper arrived. I do appreciate her work, but she could start a little later, since we’re on vacation. Every movement from the top floor to the basement carries through the house. She talks on speakerphone every day, and her voice echoes everywhere, so she became our alarm clock whether we wanted it or not. I was so happy to leave. We’ll never return and definitely won’t recommend it to anyone.
