Hotel Della Motta

The best thing about this hotel is its location, genuinely just 10 metres from the sea. I stayed for a week with my partner and our little girl, and we weren't fully satisfied. This was my first stay here, and also my only one. The food was very good, with lots of options at lunch and dinner. Breakfast, though, was repetitive, with the same things every day. We were on full board, but nobody told us until Wednesday that water wasn't included, even though we arrived on Saturday. Service needs some work. In the room, the shower flooded the bathroom if you stayed under it for more than a couple of minutes. The air conditioner was broken, and its airflow pointed right at the bed. Adjusting it didn't change the direction. The bedspread wasn't straightened once during the week. The mattress and pillow need replacing, I was left with a sore back.

I can't wait to come back each year, especially for the food, which I look forward to all year. For 33 years, Hotel Della Motta has been my home by the sea. The Della Motta family has a way of making guests feel like part of their own big family and looking after them. Hospitality, comfort, good cheer and helpfulness are what come to mind here. The quality for the price is exceptional.

I don't think we'll return. Finding parking was difficult, and the service was underwhelming. Apart from the Romanian waiter and the cleaning lady, the others seemed uninterested. At the restaurant we had to ask several times to be served, and you couldn't count on the lunch buffet unless you arrived first. The building was well kept and clean, and the air conditioning in the rooms worked well. Breakfast was very limited, mostly croissants and a few pastries, and the berry jam was always gone. Sweet and savoury foods sat right next to each other. The omelette's eggy smell beside the pastries was disgusting to me, since I don't like a savoury breakfast. I was also surprised that breakfast water cost extra.

The waiters were so kind and helpful, and the staff were incredibly friendly throughout my 3-4 day stay. The hotel was very nice and spotlessly clean.
