Hotel Giovanella

Lovely people and a nice place!

Lovely.

The only thing left of the old management, which had been like a fairy tale, is the name. With the new management, they seem to have brought in people who, I think, have never even heard of hotels. The room was filthy: the toilet was dirty, the sink clogged, dead flies on the windows, and dust everywhere. The terrace door was broken, my room door barely shut, the door connecting to another room was left open, and there was no toilet paper at first. I'll leave it at that. The manager was rude and overbearing. Most of the staff were non-Italians and didn't say hello, and their communication was unclear. They didn't even know when breakfast started. Parking costs €10 a day and isn't included in the price. Keep that in mind for a longer stay, since the emails don't mention it. Breakfast was mostly packaged food. Only the brioche and ham were passable, with no sign of eggs, bacon, or fruit. Stay away and look for hotels managed by Romagnoli, who aren't here.

The food was excellent and plentiful, and the staff were all polite and kind. I especially liked the lovely, peaceful pool. There's also an outdoor area for breakfast or an evening drink, with bar service, and it's always pleasantly breezy.
