What stayed with me most was the atmosphere. This doesn’t feel like a franchise hotel, it has a real family feeling, and the history of Garibaldi era Italy comes through everywhere. We spent four nights here and had a fantastic stay. The rooms were big, clean, and cleaned daily, with a very nice, comfortable bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Getting to Citta alta takes around 35-45 minutes on foot or 30-40 by bus, depending on traffic. Bus stops are a 3-10 minute walk away. A perfect base for a Bergamo or Milan city break. I’d definitely stay again if I get back to Bergamo.

A vintage-style, traditional Italian hotel in a good location, with free parking. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable enough. Breakfast was included and quite decent. Staff serve good-quality coffee, and there’s filter coffee at the buffet as well. Very good value for the price.

We had a relaxing, comfortable stay, thanks to everyone there. Our flight got in late at night, but a very kind man welcomed us at reception. The rooms were clean and nicely designed. Breakfast had plenty of choices, including fresh croissants, cereal, yoghurt, milk, eggs, sweets, fruit, pie, and biscuits, with something different to choose each day. The espresso was delicious, and the woman looking after breakfast was so kind. I need the potato tortija recipe, I’ve never eaten anything tastier anywhere! We’d stay again. Breakfast was just fair, nothing special, and one morning we had to wait in the lounge because the small breakfast room was full of guests or tables that hadn’t been set. The host then seated someone who’d just arrived ahead of us. The breakfast staff seemed more in the way than helpful. The hotel is fairly central, about a 20-minute walk from the bus station, but dated: the leather lounge seats are split, the floor coverings are very worn, and the bedrooms look untouched since the 1980s. Service could be abrupt, and nobody gave us information at check-in, so I had to ask about some services.

The rooms were perfect and very accommodating, and the server was top tier, friendly, supportive, and welcoming. It’s also in a great spot close to the train station. I’ll definitely return.
