House 41, Nuovo in Borgo Storico

The terrace off the living room is a lovely spot for tea in summer, and the bedroom window looks out onto the street and its atmospheric shops. The apartment sits in a historic building in a historic district, close to the main attractions, but everything inside is arranged very conveniently. Fresh, clean towels and bed linen, plus a bathroom with a roomy shower, a large sink, and the toiletries you need. For a short stay, though, bring your own toiletries. The kitchen has all the appliances needed to cook whatever you like, and they all work. My only complaint is the hairdryer, which was so sensitive it kept switching off. Everything else was simply superb.

There's no elevator, but the apartment is otherwise fine. It's very spacious and equipped for a long stay, with a bar and restaurant downstairs. A supermarket nearby is open every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and secure parking is 350 meters away.

There are two fantastic pizzerias downstairs, and the terrace is great. The apartment was clean and very well maintained, in a great spot near both the train station and the city center. There's also a bus stop in the square for heading uptown. I'd definitely stay here again if I came back to Bergamo.
